Black-White Institutional Racism Paper Contest Award Luncheon
Saturday, October 21, 2017
Place: Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia
Time: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Please join us for a reading and discussion of Vincent Dyer’s paper entitled “Systemic Racism in Education”. Vincent is PCOP’s first award winner for the Black-White Institutional Racism Paper Contest. He wrote an original essay that addressed an aspect of institutional racism. He is a PsyD student in Clinical Psychology at Chestnut Hill College.
After a reading of the paper, we will engage in thoughtful discussion about institutionalized racism, its impact on education, and how this is viewed through a psychoanalytic lens. Our hope is that it will be a wonderful opportunity to increase awareness and insight into this very pertinent topic.
Lunch will be served, courtesy of the Franks and their generous donation to PCOP. During the lunch, we will also be presenting Vincent with his award.
