We offer a variety of programs and courses throughout the academic year that are opportunities for all mental health professionals to hone and enhance their clinical skills. Most of these programs offer CME’s and CE’s and many provide insights and information that may be of interest to non-clinicians and community members as well. The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia is approved by the American Psychological Association and the American Psychoanalytic Association to award Continuing Education credits to physicians, psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists.
Our Continuing Education programs are comprised of three series:
Forums are lecture-based events that feature prominent professionals in the field of psychoanalysis. Visiting Analysts deliver talks on thought-provoking topics and exciting breakthroughs in psychoanalytic thought. Some of our past Visiting Analysts include Dr. Nancy McWilliams, Dr. Beatrice Beebe, Dr. Owen Renik, among many others. CME and CE credits are available.
The Center’s Programs in Psychoanalytic Studies (PPS) offers diverse programs and workshops for practicing clinicians and students alike. Its wide-ranging topics provide clinicians with an opportunity to expand their knowledge about psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thought and practice. PPS program presenters are PCOP members and invited guests. CME and CE credits are available.
The Alliance for Psychoanalytic Thought seeks to build and strengthen ties between the psychoanalytic community and the community at large. aPt programs foster continuing dialogue and in-depth discussions on contemporary issues, with attention to the subjective experience of individuals, families, and groups.
